Here I explore the tenuous, transient union of fluid smoke with fragile glass and sturdy metal. These are provocative images created from a momentary joining of the enduring and the ephemeral. Often, the fleeting smoke yields to be molded by its inflexible partners as it caresses them. At other times, the smoke appears to stab through the objects with a violence intended to shatter. I also seek a degree of ambiguity in these photographs, which are unique and unable to be reproduced naturally.
