It’s harvest time, and what better way to celebrate nature’s bounty (besides eating!) than with still life arrangements and photographs of our lush and vibrant fruits?
In these compositions, I wanted to showcase each type of fruit in its best light, while creating a balance of hues, textures, shapes and sizes. I encourage the viewer to visually roam through the images, almost tasting the ripened fruit with your eyes.
As with all of my still life projects, I spend about 98% of my working time composing and lighting the tableau. I strive to capture all that I possibly can “in camera”, and very minimally post-process (i.e., Photoshop) the image after capture. With these images my use of Photoshop was limited to removing a couple of ants that somehow slipped my notice while I was shooting. It’s ok. I don’t think they ate very much.
