Pincushion Bouquet

Artist's Inspiration

The Red Pincushion and High Gold blossoms in this bouquet are members of the protea plant family.  Karen photographed this image while vacationing in Hawaii.  When asked about her visit there, Karen reflects on how all of her luggage was so full of photography equipment that she didn’t have room for more than four changes of clothes to last a month.  But she was thrilled to have been able to capture some of Hawaii’s most extraordinary botanicals with the continuity of her full studio set-up.
